RGA Intl, Inc. announces CMAS is now CAP CAPABLE.
This now allows for all Emergency Messages Sent using the CAP Protocol to be part of CMAS. CAP (Common Alerting Protocol) is a XML based messaging protocol that is the standard for all alerting messages across North America and beyond. The CAP message contains information such as the originating agency, the intended recipients (e.g. general public, first responders, law enforcement), the degree of severity, the target area of the message and the alert message itself.

RGA Intl, Inc. is pleased to announce the US Patent Office's issuance of patent number 7,617,287 for the Cellular Messaging Alert System.
Abstract
An efficient method and system for utilizing existing wireless communication devices and networks, such as cellular phones and carriers, as an underlying infrastructure in providing emergency information to a targeted percentage of the population in a specified geographical location, without requiring individuals to subscribe to an alerting service and without using information solicited from or provided by the intended recipients of the alert.
